When I was planning a jewelry design with a flower, the DAISY was a natural pick.
I look forward to seeing them blooming each summer.
Whether to see them out in the wild in the mountains or in my garden,
I can’t help but appreciate their simplicity, uniqueness, and beauty.
I love how they say good night, closing their petals, and opening each morning to brighten the day.

I used seed beads and silver beads to form the shape of a DAISY to make this design. The earrings also feature natural Agate stones, and the hooks are made of sterling silver.

On summer days when I’m busy working in my studio and it’s warm out, I like having ready-made salads in my fridge that refresh me and keep me going (you know what it’s like when you get into something that you love, and you don’t want to pause it). Yesterday was one of those days, and this is one of my favourites for such an occasion.  One thing I love about this Broccoli Salad is that it is so easy to prepare at any time, and it keeps well in the fridge for days. It’s even simple enough for my husband to make ;) . It is enough filling to be eaten by itself, and it also goes great with any picnic or indoor meal.

Here is what you do:

INGREDIENTS:

5 cups broccoli florets

3 cups seedless red grapes

1/2 cup sliced celery

3 green onions, sliced

1 cup mayonnaise

1/3 cup sugar

1 Tbsp. cider vinegar

1/2 lb. bacon, sliced and cooked

(I use turkey bacon)

1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted

1.- Wash the vegetables and fruit (first four on ingredient list) and combine them in a bowl.

2.-Mix the sugar, vinegar and mayonnaise in a separate container, and drizzle over the veggies and fruit.

3.- Add the bacon and toasted almonds before serving.

Ready to enjoy!

August has been full with creating, music festivals, bonfires and family visiting with many outdoor activities.

I have always loved butterflies and I always think of the Monarch Butterfly that flies south to the sierra of Chihuahua in Mexico, and they all gather in the woods in clusters on the trees to spend the winter. It’s incredible to think how they fly all that distance. What majestic creatures they are! When I am out in nature, any time I see a butterfly, I can’t help but stop and admire its beauty for as long as it will let me. I made this necklace with the inspiration of the butterflies that greet me as I walk through the woods. This necklace is made of sterling silver and features natural Lapis Lazuli beads.

You can find Butterfly In The Woods  in my shop.
